BENEVOLENT SOCIETIES:

·          Network with various organizations:  Elks, Moose, Lions, etc.

·          Organization to donate full amount and designate recipient

·          Or donate to a general fund for underprivileged schools, etc.

·          Set up protocol for subsidy application from schools

·          Set up evaluation or procedural protocol for recipients

MARKETING, SALES & PR:

·          Coordinate design, development and production of handouts, prep-material, mailings

·          Keep marketing sites current

·          Call Auto dealers for programs, sponsorships, advertising

WEBSITE:

·          Edit DEC material for website

·          Find appropriate items for kids pages – puzzles, games, riddles, jokes, fun facts – start file of this material that can be put together for monthly cycles

·          Develop reading list with synopsis or review, age range  – general animal information, specific to our various programs and specific to individual animals

·          Work on quizzes for kids – pre or post program – true or false wolf quiz to dispel myths

·          Find “fun” facts about animals

·          Help with items for the website

·          Keep track of site and help keep it dynamic

·          Develop pages on specific programs – some text, lots of pictures

·          Develop program pages to correspond with program list so that interested parties can go to another page for more information, including pictures of animals featured in a specific program and pictures of programs in progress where possible

·          Develop compelling sponsorship, donor and contest winner pages

 

 

BOOKS:

·          Transcribe taped stories from animal handlers to make a book

·          Work on picture books

CONSERVATION NETWORK:

·          Find all sanctuaries, parks, wildlife programs, rehabilitators in the area with areas of specialty

·          Contact person at each of these places

·          Set up network where we can work with them to develop volunteer projects for high school students – short term projects with specific goals

·          Outline projects to include:

RESEARCH:

·          Find appropriate grants and keep usable file on same

·          Find companies that sell or manufacture various things that we need and contact them for donations.

·          Find companies that manufacture, design, sell alternative energy systems to install such systems in our site.

·          Research bio gas uses and equipment and resources needed

·          Appropriate rates for programs, advertising use of animals, etc.

OUTSIDE JOBS:

·          Volunteers to work at ticket programs – Geneseo Program?

·          Notify community calendars of public events

·          Travel with me and help with calls while in the car, help with follow up work - send emails and whatever materials

·          Photographer to record programs – animals, WOWEE people and audience

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:

·          Keep current data base of volunteers

·          Develop schedules for volunteers and secure written commitment from same
